New babysitter

We have a great new babysitter. Although we've acquired her babysitting services since moving to Pennsylvania, she isn't a stranger to our family.

We've used her the last three Saturday mornings. She is available at 7:00ish, when Alice wakes up raring to go. While we sleep, she engages Alice in a variety of creative games and crafts. She also gets Alice's cereal and milk for her and makes sure Alice has her vitamins.

She even makes our coffee and brings it to us in bed.

She works for 2-3 hours and charges $1/hour.

She is seven years old.

It's the best thing that ever happened to Saturday morning.

Cool!
I wonder if I could train mine to do coffee, that's something.
Sometime about a year ago Elan learned how to turn on TV ( we have a tricky set-up) and within the last few months he finally learned to read well enough to choose shows from on-demand. He still won't pour his or his brother's cereal and Saturday morning entertainment includes fighting aliens so it is not nearly as wholesome as in your house, but we do get to sleep. One has got to have priorities.

Oh, I don't know that it's wholesome at my house. There was eye makeup involved this past Saturday. But as you say, sleep trumps lots of other priorities on Saturday morning.

SO JEALOUS. Just three more years, and we, too, can have an in-house babysitter? Counting down...
