Alice, meet Patrick

We interrupt this holiday report to mention a moment at breakfast.

Alice brought a baby doll to the table, which Tom then moved out of the way as Cheerios and milk were being poured. A few minutes later Alice glanced around. "Where's my doll?" she demanded.

Tom gestured to where he had placed the doll, over by the stove.

Alice looked, frowned, and stood up in her chair. Hands on hips she declared, "Nobody puts Baby on the counter!"

She was utterly bewildered when her parents cracked up.
