Friends

This blog periodically has documented Edith's get-togethers with semi-long-distance friend, Julia:

2005

2006

2006

2007

2007

We last saw Julia in July 2008. Shortly after that both families grew busy, then sick at alternating times through the winter. By the time we next managed to see "The Julia Family" (Edith's phrase), yesterday, both girls had acquired new responsibilities:

Now we get to start a second set of developing-friendship photos. Even though little Emily is twice Alice's age at this point, they already seem like peas in a pod:

Prospects look good for all four girls continuing to have a great time with each other:

Indeed, we all had a fun day, even if our definition of fun has changed.

The photo they didn't imagine back at Summer College in 1993:

The fun and games we didn't imagine when double-dating in 1999:

Ready or not, here come Tom and Julia...

After The Julia&Emily Family had gone home, grave Alice let us know just what a good time she'd been having all along:

With thanks to Brian and Laura for some of the above photos

Adorable. thanks for posting the historical context! On the way home, I was also thinking about how tom and I met in 1993 - meaning that next year Tom and I will have known each other half of our lives. So glad you guys are semi-close!

And Gretchen and I met in 1994. From Aristotle to musical chairs...have things gone downhill, or up?
