Edith has a standing Wednesday afternoon playdate at our house with her friend, Julie. Today Edith asked if they could play Angry Birds, and I said no, that playdates should be screen-free time in which they play things they can't otherwise play by themselves.
G: Do you have any rules for playdates like that at your house, Julie?
J: [Shrugs.] No. The only rule for playdates is that the guest gets to choose first. And if you ask me, some of my guests take advantage of that.
They crack me up, these second graders.
