Happy XXth Birthday!

I've been delayed in getting up some pictures from last weekend, but we spent it in a second round of wonderful birthday celebrations, this time for Edith's Mor-mor. We felt lucky that Mor-mor chose to come up and spend her milestone birthday with us--even if Edith was a bit confused about who got to open the presents.

We accompanied Mor-mor on a visit to the Brandywine area of Delaware and Pennsylvania, where we toured the DuPont family's Winterthur estate

Daddy and Edith popped out of an old millstone in the Enchanted Forest section of the Winterthur grounds

Edith loved this little water-spouting frog

Edith and Mor-mor hung out with a friendly cow at the Wyeth family museum

But it was the sow that Edith decided to try milking this time

We were right near the house where a branch of Tom's family first settled in 1704, so we stopped by to check it out

All grown-up
Edith's second birthday portraits are back from the photographer.

Dear Edith,

Tell your caption writer that she is either Roman-numerically-challenged, or excessively tactful, or (very unlikely) the birthday celebrant did not appear to others as old as these photos tell her she is, but whatever the case, she had a FANTASTIC time with you and hopes to see you again very soon! XOXOXO -- Mor Mor

Beautiful pictures, Gretchen. I love Edith's yellow dress and the one where she is perched atop the stone frog is stunning. I may have to print that out myself.
